BAOBAB ESSENCE (Adansonia Digitata)
Base Chakra
Also called the “Upside Down Tree”

Motto: “Even in an upside down world, I stand firm.”

Origin: Africa, though varieties are also found on Madagascar, in Australia and Vietnam.

Traditional herbal uses: The Baobab tree is capable of surviving great drought and lives hundreds of years. Considered a sacred tree in Africa, the leaves are used like spinach (and to cure diarrhoea and reduce fever) and the seeds and fruit are used to make coffee. Cream of Tartar comes from the seed pods, while the inner bark provides moisture (contains up to 40% water). Tree hollows are used for shelter.

Despite being a young tree (baobabs grow to enormous height and live for hundreds of years), the tree’s energy was strong and deep in its’ double trunk. When I touched the tree to ask its’ permission to make an essence, the energy surged under my fingers where they touched the trunk. Baobab was just as eager as I to make an essence.
